EMOTION IN MOTION

Emotion-in-Motion Therapy (EMT) program dedicated to nurturing the emotional well-being of individuals in the heart of healthcare.

GROWING WINGS brings the gentle, restorative power of movement to people of all ages in hospitals throughout Greater Los Angeles — offering moments of joy, release, and connection when they’re needed most.

Created by dance artists and Emotion-Driven Movement Therapy coaches Ava Kaufman and Isabel Kilroe, the program draws on the expressive language of movement to nurture emotional, physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual well-being.

Hospital stays can bring stillness — not the peaceful kind, but one filled with uncertainty, fatigue, and emotional weight. GROWING WINGS offers a beautiful interruption: music, motion, and play that lift the mood, ease the mind, and gently awaken the body’s natural resilience.

The Gifts of the GROWING WINGS Experience

Through creative movement, guided improvisation, sensory play, relaxation techniques, and joyful interaction, GROWING WINGS offers participants:

  • A graceful way to express feelings that words can’t always reach

  • A renewed sense of connection to the body and breath

  • Gentle relief from stress, anxiety, and emotional heaviness

  • A quiet boost in confidence, self-worth, and inner calm

  • Shared moments of joy, laughter, and meaningful connection

  • A fresh perspective through play, imagination, and creativity

Blending movement with mindfulness and music, the program creates a space where healing begins with joy, and each step becomes a small act of freedom.
